Further information - Thai Foot Reflexology

What is Thai Reflexology?

Thai foot massage uses the ancient art of Thai reflexology to provide an enjoyable, relaxing, and a rejuvenating experience that heals the mind, body, and soul. Thai foot massage techniques detoxify and purify the body, helping relieve stress and tension, decrease fatigue, foster good health and mental serenity, and restore balance. During a Thai foot massage, also known as Thai foot reflexology, the pressure is applied to specific areas of the soles of the feet. In turn, a reflex reaction occurs in another part of the body, which is stimulated by the manipulation of a specific part of the foot.

Thai Foot Massage History

Foot reflexology, an ancient therapeutic procedure, is making a comeback today. Historically, the original knowledge and techniques were carefully guarded secrets kept by the Buddhist monks of the Thai Royal Palace. They have since have been passed down through the generations. Thai foot reflexology is said to be a marriage between reflexology, Chinese Tuina, Japanese Shiatsu, and Indian Ayurveda yoga. It works on the feet, lower leg, and knees, freeing up blocked energy in the body’s Thai-based meridians to create a feeling of deep relaxation, balance, and well-being.

How Thai Foot Reflexology Works

According to acupuncture and acupressure theory, there are 7,200 sensory nerve endings in each foot, which are connected to the internal organs of the body. Thai foot massage is based on the belief that there are zones and reflex areas in the feet which correspond to the systems of the body. Reading signs on the feet, understanding the client, and applying combinations of pressure using the thumb, finger and hand is the foundation and art of this highly reputed technique.

In a typical session, the lower legs and feet are stretched and massaged to open Sen (energy). Then specific pressure points, which stem from 10 major energy lines that run throughout the body, are stimulated. These pressure points provide a map of the entire body and organs. Through skilful manipulation of the soles of the feet, Thai foot massage helps the body restore its own natural healthy balance.

Benefits of Thai Foot Massage

  • Improves circulation

Who is Thai Foot Reflexology for?

Thai Foot Reflexology is for anyone who is interested in his or her general wellbeing, anyone seeking deep relaxation and it can help with certain ailments such as; Plantar Fasciitis, insomnia, stress, digestive problems, headaches, migraines and sinuses, tired feet and poor circulation of the feet and lower leg.

A study by ‘NCBI’ this year investigated the effects of Thai foot massage on balance performance in diabetic patients with peripheral neuropathy, concluding that “Thai foot massage is a viable alternative treatment for balance performance, Range Of Motion of the foot, and the foot sensation in diabetic patients with peripheral neuropathy” (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4416467/)

First Degree Reiki – Tera Mai™

Reiki & Seichem

Connecting to the Universal Life Force, for the purpose of healing.

Learn the wonders of Tera Mai™ Reiki in a friendly atmosphere and with like minded people. On the first degree course, you will learn the origins or Reiki and received the first level attunement, aligning you to the reiki energy by means of opening a purified channel in the body allowing healing energies to pass through.

What is Tera Mai™ Reiki?

Reiki means ‘Life Force Energy’ and is a healing technique where universal energy is channeled by a Reiki practitioner to the receiver by means of touch, activating the natural healing process of the customer and restoring emotional and physical well-being. Reiki can be used for the benefit of oneself and others. The benefits are many and varied, from deep relaxation to the healing of mind, body and
spirit.

Tera-Mai TM  Reiki uses the elemental Earth healing ray, this was then expanded upon during a series of events whereby the elemental healing energies of Fire, Water and Air/Spirit were added to the original Reiki/Earth energy and this is what we call Tera-Mai TM  Seichem. So Seichem incorporates all four elemental healing rays of Earth, Air, Fire and Water. One can receive initiation/attunement into Tera-Mai TM  Seichem and this enables one to channel all four elemental healing rays, (and that includes Reiki which is the Earth element). There is the option to receive an initiation/attunement into just Reiki and channel the elemental earth healing
ray only.
